Useful Limiters in the TGIF Notes field

The Notes field in TGIF can contain a wide range of useful information, both from the perspective of searching as well as content. General notes include:

• Pictures, color
• Pictures, b/w
• Pictures, color & b/w
• Figures
• Tables
• Graphs
• Maps
• Line drawings
• Drawings

Please note that pictures are normally photographs and Drawings are normally line drawings.

Additional notes may reference where the item has been reprinted or if the item appears as abstract only (like Agronomy Abstracts).

In Power Search, use NOTE=XXXX to search for specific notes. Often searching the Notes field is used in conjunction with another search. For example:

T=NEMATOD* AND NOTE=PICTURE*

will produce a set of items about nematodes with pictures (most of which are probably of nematodes).
