Abstract/Contents:Profiles the linden borer, a problematic pest to the turfgrass industry. Presents a study conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to understand the linden borer, as much of the damage inflicted by the linden borer on various trees goes unnoticed until it is severe. Results include that "damage associated with the linden borer has been reported increasingly in nurseries and urban settings including street medians, commercial and residential properties and golf courses." Concludes that the results "are most valuable in providing pest managers with the appropriate information for timing preventive bark spray applications or barrier treatments of insecticides to prevent future linden borer infestations."
