Abstract/Contents:Presents results of research conducted on the impact of seashore paspalum on ball rolling distances. Presents another test conducted to "help determine best management practices for surface grooming techniques of paspalum greens in the arid Southwest." Reports that "turf that was not groomed had better quality than turf groomed five to six times weekly." Concludes that "based on the results and conditions of this two-year study, long-term cultural practices that would consistently produce high-ranking ball roll distance in a semiarid environment would most likely include topdressing and vertical mowing either at seven- or 14-day intervals, with grooming on an as-needed basis, especially during the first two-thirds of the summer season."
