Abstract/Contents:Describes a study conducted at Kansas State University's Rocky Ford Turfgrass Farm "to determine the feeding preference and damage caused by bluegrass billbugs on 10 Poa genotypes and to develop an indication of the heritability of billbug resistance." Results include that "Reveille, a Texas and Kentucky bluegrass hybrid, was least preferred by the bluegrass billbug and showed the greatest tolerance to the pest." Concludes that this study "provides the first report of the susceptibility of Texas bluegrass to the bluegrass billbug...it appears that bluegrass billbug-resistant hybrids can be developed from a resistant Texas bluegrass and a susceptible Kentucky bluegrass."
