Abstract/Contents:Discusses integrated management of anthracnose disease and annual bluegrass weevil, identifying anthracnose as a "stress-induced disease that attacks severely weakened turfgrass...so any lapse in fungicide protection can lead to rapid outbreaks." Notes that anthracnose outbreaks are frequently dealt with by curative measures, but states that "curative approaches and applications of single fungicides often do not provide adequate control of the disease, so a preventative approach including tank-mixtures of multiple chemistries is commonly recommended." Provides a table outlining nine different chemical classes of fungicides recommended for anthracnose control. Addresses fungicide resistance, control timing, field trial results, and the potential for using phosphonate fungicides. Includes a step-by-step guide to an effective anthracnose prevention program.
