| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to develop a growing degree day (GDD) reapplication schedule for Trimmit, "a growth regulator that affects gibberellic acid synthesis." Details methods and materials used during the experiment, noting that "we collected clippings several times each week from plots treated with Trimmit at 16 oz/acre [ounces per acre] and compared the daily clipping growth to non-treated plots." Provides a chart illustrating relative clipping yield percentages against GDD quantity. Reports that "the label statements for 50% [percent] growth reduction were fairly accurate." Concludes that "following a 300 GDD reapplication schedule on bentgrass-dominated putting greens can maximize the regulation of bentgrass growth, while putting enormous pressure on annual bluegrass populations." |
