| Abstract/Contents: | "A two-year study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Pseudomonas [aureofaciens] aureofacians applied through an irrigation system, in combination with various fertility and fungicidal management strategies, for the control of dollar spot in fairway height creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris 'Crenshaw'). Fertility rates were 122 kg ha⁻¹ y⁻¹ and 220 kg ha⁻¹ y⁻¹. Fungicide strategies consisted of a preventative program, a curative program, another biocontrol (T. harizianum) and none. Results from 1998 showed a general reduction in the number of dollar spots per plot due to P. aureofaciens, especially in the high nitrogen regime. There were few interactions between P. aureofaciens and fungicide application strategy, nor were there any interactions between P. aureofaciens and T. harizianum application in controlling dollar spot. Data from 1998 and 1999 will be presented." |
