Abstract/Contents: | Evaluates the programs and projects that were and were not successful throughout the year 2004. Describes moss infestation as the most common and severe problem compromising playing quality. Describes cutting height and nitrogen fertility as most effective way of treating moss infestation on the putting green. Addresses the "heavy use of micronutrients, decreased nitrogen and limited topdressing and cultivation on putting greens." Addresses the use of the plant growth regulator Primo on putting greens. Describes soil temperature, growth rate, day length and other environmental factors that may contribute to effectiveness of Primo efficiency. Examines the tow-behind fairway verticutting units and their popularity throughout the Rocky Mountain states. Describes thatch control as improving density, improving growth patterns and playing quality. Describes the winterization process that prepares the golf course for the winter. |
