Abstract/Contents: | Describes the three paths related to the evolution of biological control of soil borne diseases: 1) "that complex mixtures of microorganisms found in composted manures and green waste suppress soil borne diseases"; 2) the "silver bullet" biological control approach; and 3) "organic materials are added to the soil which results in a soil environment that favors groups of antagonistic biocontrol organisms". Advises readers to use caution when testing new products. Recommends "[testing] these products on split greens or using other conditions that will allow you to determine if the product works". |
