Abstract/Contents: | "Injury to trees and shrubs in the landscape is a concern of every professional turf manager and homeowner when using herbicides for weed control in turfgrass. Today, a number of herbicides are available that effectively control grassy type weeds in and around shrub beds. Many of these materials have demonstrated wide safety margins to trees and shrubs. These products include both pre- and post-emergence herbicides for grassy weed control." Topics include: Effects of hormone-type herbicides on trees and shrubs; effects of atrazine on trees and shrubs, a table on herbicide treatments applied to turf around trees and shrubs, and a table on growth measurements on trees and shrubs exposed to herbicides. |
