Abstract/Contents:Article discusses the establishment of turfgrass from seed or vegetative material (sprigs or sod). Important factors include: grass variety selected, time available to establish cover, type of material to be used, method of establishment, quantity of material needed, and the best time of year to begin. Methods of establishment include: planting, seeding, sprigging, plugging, and sodding. Includes tables for seeding rates of southern turfgrasses, and types of planting material, methods, rates and times of planting. Briefly mentions care after establishment.
