Abstract/Contents:"The extended logistic model utilizes relatively simple analytical functions for coupling seasonal accumulation of dry matter and plant nutrient uptake to applied nutrient level. In this article model parameters are evaluated for response of Coastal bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon L.) and Pensacola bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum Flügge) to applied nitrogen (N). Both species were grown on the same soil. It was assumed that the exponential parameters were common for both grasses, and that all of the difference between the two was accounted for in the linear parameters. The model predicted the phase relations between seasonal yield and plant N concentration with plant N uptake for both grasses."
