Abstract/Contents: | Presents a "demonstration of seedling turf of tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, zoysia, and bermuda" conducted to provide a "first hand view of their relative seedling size and vigor." Describes the materials and methods used in the demonstration, stating that "the forty zoysia genotypes...selected, ten from each of four germplasm pools, for their winter hardiness from much larger populations planted at the University of Illinois turf research area at Urbana in 2001." Discusses the results of the study, stating that "zoysia has a broad range of genetic diversity in winter-hardiness which easily encompasses northern Illinois." |
