Abstract/Contents:The art of golf course architecture, past and present, is constantly changing and is beginning to incorporate more turf maintenance theory into its designs. Contour mowing, natural landscaping, use of flowers, stadium golf, and elaborate bunkers are all being used with increasing frequency. The four steps to an outstanding golf course are: inspired design, sound specifications, painstaking construction, and dedicated maintenance.
