Abstract/Contents: | Discusses hard and soft greens, suggesting that "hard greens are always fast, free from heel marks and ball holes and while they may not have as rich a color as a soft green, they are more healthy and free from disease." States that "keeping a smooth, firm and resilient surface on a hard green calls for more care but less grief and danger of brown, dried out areas." Suggests that "base soils of a putting green should be kept moist, never wet" and that "moist base soil insures perfect drainage each time the green is watered." |
