Abstract/Contents: | Describes "three studies on the established bentgrass green in Section 8 and four studies on establishment in Section 7." Provides information on the soil test results, stating that "excess lime was low, soil phosphorus was very low and soil potassium was low, and no organic matter was present." Describes four studies involving treatments on mulches, including Turfmat, Excellsior mat, Terrashield and an uncovered control. Also describes studies conducted on established greens, reporting that "the major findings...include greater putting speed, improved turfgrass quality, and greater incidence of brown patch and pythium blight diseases on light-frequent sand topdressed greens when compared to the traditional program." |
