Question:The grass on our fairways has been cut to 1¼ inches, which is ⅜ inch longer than in previous years. The question arose as to the likelihood of an increase in weeds because of this practice. Your opinion on this question is requested.

Answer/Response:According to tests that we have conducted in different districts, clover and other turf weeds are likely to be less troublesome in grass that is cut to 1¼ inches than they are in grass that is cut very short.
