Abstract/Contents:Describes the possible effect that distributors have on superintendents, stating that "in this world, the ability or inability of distributors to get parts or products can sometimes spell success or failure on...golf courses." Discusses two possible important functions of a distributor: sales and service, and explains issues that may frustrate superintendents, such as "lack of attention from some distributors," back order, and "being told that a common part is out of stock." States that "it all comes down to communication...if one more step were [was] taken, there would be few, if any, issues that were unexpected." Provides cases that various superintendents had when dealing with distributors. Concludes that "distributors and superintendents share a common relationship with each other...each is dependent on the other for success."
