Abstract/Contents: | In greenhouse studies in the USA, feeding sites of Forcipata loca DeLong & Caldwell on Kentucky-31 tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) were about 25 um in diameter, with a central puncture about 2 um in diameter. Chlorosis, the number of feeding sites and faecal waste deposits increased with prolonged leafhopper feeding. The feeding of F. loca gave rise to chlorotic spots by damaging the mesophyll. |
