Abstract/Contents: | Discusses green speed, stating that "smooth hard greens is a major goal of golf course superintendents." Presents two studies conducted "to evaluate green speed and turf visual quality as affected by double cutting and PGR [plant growth regulator] - trinexapac-ethyl (Primo MAXX®) applications." Details the methods and materials used, stating that "greens were constructed in the early 1970s according to USGA [United States Golf Association] recommendations. Turf was maintained at a mowing height of 0.125 inches." Reports results for 2006, stating that "no differences between the mowing treatments were observed. However, the turf quality declined the greatest in the counter-cutting metod over duration of this study. Primo MAXX® did not have any effect on ball roll." |
