Abstract/Contents: | Profiles the Bruce Company, a landscape firm from Wisconsin. Discusses the fall season and states that it "is a great time for those running compost facilities because there is an influx of yard debris, or green waste, as the autumn leaves fall and end - of - the - season cleanups generate piles of sticks, twigs, and branches" States that "it also means instead of paying to get rid of green waste in a landfill - not even an option in some states like Wisconsin, where regulations prohibit it - those landscape companies that get into compost can actually turn a profit from the debris." Briefly mentions that "it's...important to be sure that composting is permitted in [the] landscape yard. Some towns and municipalities have special requirements for the location of compost facilities exceeding a certain size." Concludes that it is "important to be sure [one has] a market for the product." |
