Abstract/Contents: | Cides with some of the more commonly used herbicides (3-Way, Trimer, dicamba, Bromoxynil) for the control of Virginia buttonweed (Diodia virginiana) in St. Augustinegrass turf at the Beaumont Country Club in Beaumont, Texas in 1985. Ratings (1-9 visual scale) for phytotoxicity of the treatments were made 3 weeks following application on April 8, 1985. Virginia buttonweed control ratings (1-9 scale) were taken at 3 and 6 weeks after applications. At the rates applied in this study there was not a significant amount of phytotoxicity to St. Augustinegrass caused by any of the herbicide treatments. The control obtained with bromoxynil, dicamba, Trimice, and 3-Way material was not acceptable. The Imazaquin alone or in combination with 3-Way was the most effective in controlling Virginia buttonweed under the conditions of this study. The combination appeared slightly more effective than Imazaquin applied alone. |
