Abstract/Contents: | Evaluates nitrogen fertility requirements and physiological responses of seashore paspalum to 4 different mowing heights at Texas A&M University in 1985. Seashore paspalum can tolerate high saline soil conditions where groeth of bermudagrass is impaired. Mowing heights of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 inches were maintained. Two visual turfgrass quality ratings were made in late 1985. However, these data were not conclusive. The observers noted that quality differences were very difficult to obtain. The highest rating was 5 and lowest was 3. No significant differences were octained in shoot density measurements affected by nitrogen fertility level. However, the trend indicated that higher shoot densities were associated with the lower mowing heights. |
