Abstract/Contents: | Reviews trial results from a football pitch where turf received artificial wear to show optimum nitrogen rates for various features of playing quality. The broad conclusion was that the optimum N rate was 175-225 kg/ha per year for both sand and soil plots with emphasis that this was a range of values for different soil types. Also discusses the use of 25:10:10 "traditional" fertilizer on winter games pitches. |
