Abstract/Contents:Presents the results of three studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of several fungicides in controlling brown ring patch disease. Details methods and materials used in the studies, stating that "research was conducted at three locations in 2008 on native-soil, push-up style putting greens dominated by annual bluegrass: Reston, [Virginia]; North Barrington, [Illinois]; and La Jolla, [California]...All fungicide treatments were applied to greens after brown ring patch symptoms had appeared." Reports that "many of the products tested in these trials were effective against brown ring patch to varying degrees under different conditions...it appears that repeated fungicide applications may be more effective than single applications." Concludes that "timely and appropriate chemical management combined with other cultural inpust, such as increased fertility...could be [the] best choices for combatting brown ring patch."
