Abstract/Contents: | "Improved varieties of our important turfgrasses have been appearing rapidly. Since each new variety has characteristics umlike any other it is necessary to see how they perform in mixtures or blends. The new fine fescues and perennial ryegrasses are particularly more aggressive in mixture. Two-and three-way mixtures of varying percentage of improved Kentucky bluegrass, Chewings fescue and Perennial ryegrass were seeded in October, 1975 and June, 1976 to observe speed of establishment, competitiveness among species and quality of turf developed. These studies should be of general interest - including sod growers." |
