Abstract/Contents: | Briefly presents a study on the selection of "better varieties [of tall fescue] by evaluating characteristics of 19 varieties during the period of summer stress in Nanjing." Includes the materials and methods employed during the study, stating that "19 tall fescue varieties were planted in a randomized complete block design with 3 replicates." Mentioning that an index of turf characteristics was measured. Reports that "the growth rate of TF3 [tall fescue variety 3] was the highest, TF15 [tall fescue variety 15] was the slowest, but differences among the other varieties were not significant." Concludes that "seventeen varieties...were acceptable for mean turf quality during the high temperature season." |
