Abstract/Contents: | "In order to clarify the dominant pathogenic fungus of "Shizumi" symptom, 253 samples collected from zoysiagrass green in golf course of Kyusyu were inspected with a microscope from 1994 to 1998. Fusarium spp. (of Fusarium disease), Gaeumannomyces sp. (of Zoysia decline) and colletotrichum sp. (of Anthracnose) were isolated or detected combinably. Therefore, it is assumed that "Shizumi" symptom is not caused by the specific pathogenic fungus and total management composed of preventive application of fungicide and cultivation (thatching, coring, vertical mowing) is needed to control "Shizumi" symptom effectively." |
