Abstract/Contents: | Reports on a study conducted to "(1) compare the wear tolerance of perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, and Kentucky bluegrass cultivars representing the most wear tolerant entries of each species from recently terminated NTEP [National Turfgrass Evaluation Program] test, and (2) identify plant characteristics and associated mechanisms important in these species and cultivars." Mentions the development, as of 2008, of cool-season turfgrass wear tolerance studies since the 1970's. Outlines the cultural practices employed on the 15 tested entries, observed during the 2007 growing season, and includes a table contents listing collected trial data. |
