Abstract/Contents: | Contains a report on two field projects conducted "to identify differences in environmental stress tolerance among bentgrass species." States that the first project compares the recuperative potential and drought resistance of 17 cultivars of colonial, creeping, and velvet bentgrasses maintained as golf fairways. Continues to explain the construction of a rain exclusion shelter as part of the second project, noting that "a fully automated mobile shelter excludes unwanted rainfall from test plot areas and allows quantitative control of irrigation while retaining the advantages of practical field conditions." |
