Abstract/Contents:	Queensland Blue Couch is used in most applications for sports turf. However, there has been a move to use improved couch varieties for putting surfaces, namely Tiften. Bent Grass should be grown for putting surfaces. Common Couch or Hybrids are dominant grasses for fairways and tees, can tolerate all selective herbicides, and will produce a strong turf with a rich green color and a less dense growth habit. The result of this color and growth of Common Couch is by maintaining a good nitrogen level. Frequent mowing with good equipment is essential.
