Abstract/Contents: | Nitrogen BMP's are a good idea and make a lot of sense. Failure of the turfgrass industry to put forth the effort needed to minimize fertilizer nitrogen entry into surface and groundwater will only result in government regulations that will complicate turfgrass management and increase everyone's costs. If everyone will adopt the nitrogen BMP's then the industry will be in the position of being able to claim that application of nitrogen to turfgrass is not a significant contributor to surface and groundwater pollution. |
