Abstract/Contents:A sewage treatment plant in Upper Michigan was looking for suitable land on which to recycle sewage. Oak Crest, a municipal golf course in Upper Michigan had needs: 1) Nutrients for trees, native plants and grasses due to the annual removal of leaves; 2) Increase the organic content of the soils; and 3) resolve problem of soil pH (4.7-6.0) coupled with acidic rainfall. The golf course became the location for recycling the sewage and solved its needs also.
