Abstract/Contents:New and existing fungicides were evaluated for control of Drechslera leaf spot in 'Kenblue' Kentucky bluegrass. The turf received conventional care and was maintained at 1.5 inch mowing height. Treatments were applied to 6 ft x 10 ft plots in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Some plots were treated with fungicide at a 4x normal rate in a single applicaiton (SAT) whereas others were treated at regular intervals. All plots were treated Apr 14 and those receiving additional sprays were treated Apr 30, May 18, Jun 2, and Jun 17. Plots were evaluated Jun 17 for percent leaf blades showing leaf spots. Significant reduction in leaf spotting was obtained with regular applications of Daconil 2787, Tilt, Chipco 26019, Manzate 200, and Dyrene plus Bayleton. None of the SAT treatments had a significant effect on leaf spotting. Leaf spot incidence in check plots was light indicating low disease pressure existed. A table provides fungicides, application rates, and leaf spot ratings.
