Fall 2022 Update:

During the Fall 2022 semester, there are several routes to get in touch with the Turfgrass Information Center.

  • The department will be open to the public Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9am-5pm.

Abstract/Contents:Describes research conducted at University of Agricultural Sciences Vienna, concerning stress tolerance of selected herbs and grasses. Explains the goal as to collect "alpine seeds for enduring ecologically beneficial turfgrass (no fertilization, no irrigation) from rich and various species." Notes the test plots are treated with a special roller to imitate heavy traffic. Briefly mentions test plots conducted by the Richter Rasen Company concerning different rootzone mixtures for transportable soccer, football and tennis pitches.
