Abstract/Contents:Since the interest in golf has increased, and the demand for ever more golf courses along with it, the creation of environmentally sound golf courses within the tight space of Nordrhein-Westfalen has become of the utmost importance. Using some of the construction and environmental laws of Nordrhein-Westfalen as a starting point, the author suggests methods by which golf courses can be made more environmentally safe in the early planning and legal authorization stages, long before actual construction begins. By establishing clear definitions and requirements based on research, a golf course can be constructed that benefits the environment and the human population around it, as well as the game of golf itself.
