Abstract/Contents: | Addresses the problem of ant eradication on putting greens, noting that ants may be divided into several groups, those who feed on small insect fry and will attack greens where fertilizers like blood and bone have been used, and those who feed on honey and flower nectar. Recommends for the ants who feed on honey and nectar, a mixture of 3 parts sugar to 2 parts Borax is mixed in water and injected down ant hills and for the blood and bone ants, a group injection of carbon bisulphide into nests was effective. |
