Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to test the growth of prairie buffalograss at different growing heights and fertilization rates. Details the methods and materials used in the study, stating that the buffalograss was maintained at unmowed, 2.25 inch, and 3.5 inch heights, and that nitrogen fertilizer was applied at 0.0, 0.5, and 1.0 lb N per 1,000 square feet. Reports that "the plot area that has not received any nitrogen has been significantly discolored." Concludes that "the plot mowed at 3.5 inches and fertilized with 0.5 lb nitrogen per 1,000 square feet has provided an acceptable quality turf for this initial test period. |
