Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "determine the minimum amount of water required to sustain a turf that will persist and stabilize the soil and the optimum amount of water required to maintain actively growing turf with acceptable quality." Details the methods and materials used in the study, stating that the buffalograss samples were placed in "a randomized complete block with two replications on either side of center trench" to which gradient irrigation was applied. Reports that "there were no significant differences between grasses in total turf cover or green turf cover." Concludes that "turf quality was significantly better for Prairie than the other grasses across all irrigations." |
