Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "determine the phytotoxicity of selected pre- and post-emergence herbicides on buffalograss." Details the methods and materials used in the study, stating that "growth characteristics for grasses were evaluated periodically by estimating total coverage, spring greenup, summer green cover, and overall turf quality." Reports that many herbicides caused discoloration and declining turf cover initially, but after a period of time returned to acceptable conditions. Concludes that "Prograss was the most phytotoxic of all pre-emergence chemicals" and that "Acclaim was the most detrimental to Prairie buffalograss when applied on active growing turf." |
