Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the results of research aimed to create guidelines for creating and maintaining landscapes that are comfortable and aesthetically pleasing while reducing contamination and water use. States that the research hopes to develop information on the use of water on different combinations of plants in urban landscapes and how plant components are affected by different landscape management practices. Explains that research has been conducted that shows that uniconazole reduces water use in hibiscus and privet. Concludes that by using "more innovative designs and better management practices, it may be possible for municipalities to reduce total landscape irrigation by 30 to 50%." |
