Abstract/Contents: | "Ninety-one fine-leaf fescue cultivars (Festuca spp.) representing the 1989 NTEP selections were evaluated at the Landscape Management Research Center, University Park, PA. The study was established in July, 1990, in a completely randomized block design with three replications. The 4 x 6 ft plots were seeded at 4.6 lbs / 1000 sq.ft. The area received Tupersan + started fertilizer prior to establishment. Rates were 4.7 lbs a.i. / acre siduron and 25, 33, and 5 lbs/acre N-P-K respectively. The area received frequent irrigation to ensure seedling germination and survival. Seedling vigor, prior to the first mowing, was rated on September 6 on a scale of 0-9, where 9=most vigorous. This data was subjected to analysis of variance and Fisher's protected lsd at the 5 percent level." |
