Abstract/Contents: | "Kelp Extract applied to Penncross Creeping Bentgrass as a seed treatment and seedbed treatment were evaluated for their effects on emergence and seedling growth. Treating the seedbed with the extract produced greater seedling numbers than either the untreated control or the seed treatment on all four rating dates. Both the seed treatment and the seedbed treatment produced taller plants on three of the five rating dates. From this data, improved plant heights and seedling emergence occured from the seedbed treatment, while seedling heights improved for both the seed and seedbed treatments. There were no phytotoxic effects of the treatments at any time." |
