Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the management of roughs "so as to minimize the effects of drought on the turf," highlighting the pontential benefits of rainfall. Focuses on "increasing the amount of rainwater available to the turfgrass" and "[reducing] turfgrass water use rates." Explains that "careful monitoring of surface soil temperature will [indicate] when more water needs to be applied." Concludes that "in going from perennial ryegrass to tall fescue, the reduction in water use is typically in the range of 20 to 30%." |
