Abstract/Contents: | "On May 29, in Winnipeg on loam soil in native sod, comprising several species of grass, 10 ft. sq. plots were knapsack sprayed using 40 imperial gal. water/A. At the end of the season results were: Dalapon at 10, 20, and 40 lbs/A retarded growth but by late fall there was considerable re-growth, except at 40 lbs. where control was rated as 85%. Amino triazole at 1 ½, 3 and 6 lbs/A for the first 5-6 weeks appeared to be quite effective but from that date onward the grass on all plots made complete recovery. CMU (Karmex W, Karmex FW and Karmex DW) were applied at 213/4 and 43 ½ lb/A giving only limited control on one plot (Karmex W at 43 ½ lb/A)." |
