Abstract/Contents: | "The Sport Village of Qualiano-Villaricca has widened its range of sporting facilities by equipping two soccer fields with a brand new cover of latest generation artificial grass. The interventions took place in two different locations, one of which is used by the Soccer School. The fields that have been remodeled are: the 11-player field of the Soccer School and one of the 5-a-side fields of the Sport Village. The artificial turf cover of the full-size field uses 62 mm high monofilaments in the shape of straight diamonds, made 100% green polyethylene, and produced with lubricated anti-abrasion fibres featuring excellent resistance to wear and to harsh atmospheric conditions. They are woven from a special yarn obtained through a lengthwise fibrillation technique for a more realistic appearance of the finished grass cover and a slower process of deterioration of the fibres subjected to heavy use. The grass is produced by extrusion with the aid of special additives for protection against UV rays, is coloured with ecological substances, is frost-resistant and self-draining, and is coated on the back with a mix of polyurethane and non spoiling rubber latex, which is also used on the sides of the white line rolls. The 5-a-side field features a 42 mm high artificial grass cover, consisting of 100% two-tone green polyethylene monofilaments, stabilised and UV ray resistant, featuring a back side in non spoiling latex, and uniform draining action. It is an optimal product for all contact sports as well as for hybrid systems, offering a unique combination of resilience, softness to the skin and long service life in a single monofilament. The stablisation infill uses silica sand, the performance infill uses brown, high quality SBR granules." |
