Laboratory and field data indicate that 3 ppm of wetting agent is too little and that 15 to 30 ppm is required. Phytotoxocity data show large differences both between types of wetting agents and between wetting agents of a given type. The nonionic wetting agents were the safest. Greenhouse data indicate a 30 to 50% reduction in water required and an improved intercellular structure of grass plants. These data are interpreted and related to turfgrass management for golf courses, landscaping, tennis courts and athletic fields on the bases of a 15-years field uses.
