Abstract/Contents: | "Sabadilla, developed from the seeds of Schoenocaulon spp. (a type of lily from Central America), is being currently recommended by the New Jersey Station as superior to rotenone and nicotine treatments for chinch bug control in turf. One hundred pounds of 10% dust to the acre (dusted or mixed with sand and applied with fertilizer distributor) has been a satisfactory rate. Results are rapid and can be judged in 48 hours. High temperatures and dry, previously-cut grasses are beneficial." |
