| Abstract/Contents: | GCSAA sponsors the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Schools, which the students of Glenmont Elementary students have been participating in. The program was designed to teach the students about wetlands and wildlife, among other things about nature. Three acres of soggy playground were converted into a wildlife preserve and outdoor nature classroom. The land has; wetlands, wildflower fields, butterfly gardens, stands of trees, and thickets of shrubbery that attract wildlife. It also has hiking trails, observation decks, science stations, and an amphitheater. |
