Abstract/Contents: | "A number of commercially-available as well as experimental fungicides were evaluated for brown patch control in 1996. Experimental plots were established at the Cornell University Turfgrass Field Research Laboratory (CUTFRL) in Ithaca, NY on a creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Hudson) sand-based putting green (pH 8.0) which was 8 years old. The green was mowed 3 times a week at a 5 mm cutting height. Plots were 3 ft. X 3 ft. in size and there were four replications. The plot area was situated on a portion of the green known to have a history of brown patch with symptoms uniformly distributef over the area." Includes results from the experiment. "For control of brown patch on putting green in turf in the Ithaca, NY area, the most effective treatments are Daconil, Sentinel, Daconil/Sentinel combinations, and Prostar applied at 14 to 21-day intervals." |
